The Abbot's Fireside Hotel is a 15th century hotel, situated in the historic village of Elham. It is the perfect place to stay when making a trip across the Channel: Eurotunnel (10 minutes), Port of Dover (20 minutes).
When you enter The Abbot's Fireside you will encounter a warm and friendly atmosphere. You will be surrounded by antique furniture, open fireplaces, original leaded windows and heavy beams throughout the lounge, the restaurant and all the bedrooms.
Our lounge and restaurant both feature huge medieval fireplaces, which are, like the hotel itself, listed by the English Heritage Society.

The restaurant features a huge medieval fireplace, which, like the hotel, is listed by English Heritage. Originally built as an inn in 1451, the restaurant today enjoys an excellent reputation for its cuisine and warm personality.

From Channel Tunnel: * Leaving the tunnel follow sign for Folkestone (left lane) * At first roundabout straight on (signposted Etchinghill) * Follow road for approx 5 miles (through Lyminge) until you arrive to Elham * The Abbot's Fireside Hotel is located on left hand side in the village.
From Canterbury: * Leave Canterbury via the Old Dover Road towards Dover and join the A2 * Leave A2 at exit 'Barham' * Drive through Barham and follow main road, next village is Elham * The Abbots Fireside Hotel is located on right hand side in the village.
